Wait Upon the Lord

Wow..time sure does fly! I set up this little blog over six years ago and so much water has gone under the bridge since then. As I look back over the last few years I marvel at the goodness of God. Now you might think that when I say "goodness" I am meaning that everything has been easy, straightforward and comfortable. I am by no means saying that. I have had my share of trials, joys, sorrows, successes, and failures. But through it all God continues to show himself faithful! 

One of the main things God has been teaching me this year is what it means to "wait upon the Lord". Psalm 27 has become one of my favorite chapters of scripture this year. Here are a few verses...

Verse 1: " The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
Verse 13: "I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!"
Verse 14: Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

So many times I want to want the answer right away. But God says "wait my son." Many times I worry and fret about the future but God says "wait my son. Often I chaff at the unknown but again God says "wait my son." 

Waiting is hard! Many of us have waited and looked forward to and event, an accomplishment, or activity with anticipation. But with many things in life, God calls us to wait. Waiting on God is not always easy or comfortable but in the long run it is always worth it!

So remember my friend....Wait upon the Lord!
